Learning Resources

Continuing investment ensures we provide some
of the best teaching facilities in the South West.

There are purpose-built LRCs at both our main campuses. These centres enable all full-time students to access resource-based learning, supported by a team of Learning Assistants. This helps to ensure students can effectively and successfully research assignments, put together portfolios and search the web. This approach is supported with computer stations, TV/DVD viewing areas, and group work/study areas. Experienced and friendly staff are available to support and advise you. Each centre is also fitted with the latest equipment and materials, including:

• Over 30,000 books, journals and multimedia resources
• Use of equipment: printers, photocopiers, laminators, binders and scanners
• A variety of study spaces for individual or group study
• A range of literature to advise you on your continued professional development
• Career information, college guides and prospectuses
• Photocopiers, laminators, scanners and binders
• Over 100 computers with access to online resources
• E-library on our Virtual Learning Environment
• Help from friendly and experienced staff
• Support with research and coursework.

More than 1000 computers

The IT suites throughout the College are well equipped with high specification computers and printing facilities. The College has around 1000 computers for students to use across all campuses. The ability to use IT effectively is vital, both as an aid to study and in preparation for future employment.

Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)

Our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) is a specialist web portal designed to support your learning at Weston College. It is a place where you can access course handouts and other learning resources from your tutors. All students of Weston College can access the VLE in the College or from computers at home through the internet.
