Accounting is an integral part of business and fundamental to the UK economy. Businesses, big and small, depend upon the skills of talented individuals to provide financial expertise. Studying for the AAT qualification will you give you the skills to work in a variety of different kinds of business and organisations, providing you with a wide choice of varied career opportunities.
Course structure and content
This course is a nationally recognised qualification in accountancy. The course is made up of a range of units (core, optional and project) including:
- Drafting financial statements
- Drafting budgets
- Measuring financial performance
- Evaluating Accounting Systems
- Calculating business tax
- Calculating personal tax.
You will also be expected to undertake study and research outside the classroom. You will need to purchase books during the course costing approximately £85.
Course hours
One day or two evenings, six hours in total per week.
Delivery method
Taught sessions will take the form of formal lectures and practical sessions.
Assessment
Assessed through a variety of methods including examinations and completed management accounting projects.
Entry Requirements
It is expected that you would have completed the AAT Intermediate Level 3 and that you are currently studying as a Student Member of the Association of Accounting Technicians. You will be required to be a Student Member in order to sit the assessments.
Progression
This course is ideal if you wish to become an Accountant and is
highly regarded by the profession. On successful completion of this course, it is also possible to progress to the professional
examinations of Chartered Institute of Management Accounts
