If you are over 19 years old and you lack the necessary GCSE/A Level entry qualifications for university then the Access to Higher Education course will enable progression to many degree choices and future careers.
Course content and structure
Weston College’s Access to Higher Education course has been developed to enable you to receive an individual programme of study. This helps to ensure that your individual goals and career aspirations are met. It enables you to have the opportunity to progress to your chosen degree course.

- Combined studies
- Education
- Health and social care
- Science
- Web Design.
Delivery method
Taught sessions take the form of:
- Lectures
- Seminars
- Presentations
- Practical work
- Project work.
Course hours
Three days a week.
Assessment
This course is assessed through a variety of methods including assignments and practical work.
Entry Requirements
No formal academic qualifications are required. You should be
working at Level 1 Maths and Level 2 English – help can be given prior to the start of the course if you are working below these levels.
Progression
On successful completion of this course you will have the opportunity to progress to a wide range of Foundation Degree courses at Weston College.
Alternatively, you may also have the opportunity to progress to university to study for an Honours Degree.
