STUDENT ACCOMMODATION

For many of you, coming to Weston College to study on a Foundation Degree will also mean moving away from home for the first time. So one of the first things you will want to sort out is your accommodation.

"Where will I be living?" is an important question when you are thinking about University life - everyone has different requirements. We know how important it is to choose the right accommodation and with the help of this website we aim to provide all the information you need to make your selection as easy as possible.

Student Accommodation Leaflet (HE)

We have a number of properties owned and managed by local landlords which are exclusively available to Weston College HE students. The HE Unit will allocate the student accommodation on a first come first serve basis, and accommodation is prioritised for students who live outside the area and for those who select our Foundation Degrees as their first choice course via UCAS.

The Application Process

How to apply...

There is plenty of varied accommodation in Weston-super-Mare for students however some accommodation is more popular than others so if you want to be allocated your preferred choice our top tip is... apply early.

Information regarding how to apply for student accommodation will automatically be sent to you when you apply. You will need to complete a form and send this to us with a deposit cheque, this is the only way to reserve student accommodation.

When will I find out the result of my application?

We usually start allocating students in the accommodation during the summer months, and we aim to confirm all accommodation allocations by the beginning of August.

Accommodation can only be secured by the HE Unit receiving a deposit cheque.

What if I require accommodation and miss the deadline?

If you submit your application and have missed our deadline for applying for accommodation please do not worry. We can help you to find private accommodation to suit your needs. Please contact us and one of our advisers will be happy to help you.

What if I don't get the results I need?

Many students will receive examination results in August and will begin preparing for their studies at Weston College. If your results are not what you expect, please call us so we can discuss your options.

The HE Unit

The HE Unit at Weston College is here for all students throughout the year providing a friendly and helpful service. We advise on, and allocate, the HE student accommodation and are able to help students who may wish to find their own privately rented accommodation. We also help second and third year students find rented accommodation by providing lists of private accommodation available to students, and advising on leases, landlords and other accommodation matters.
