Weston-super-Mare is a great place for students to study - small enough to make you feel welcome yet big enough to provide plenty of entertainment!
It boasts a seaside location in the sunny South West with a promenade providing a range of bars and restaurants. There’s something special about a place that can combine seaside traditions with 21st Century amenities.
Beach life
Weston-super-Mare has miles of beaches, dunes and rock pools. Whatever the time of year and whatever the weather, there is always something to do. The beach offers a wide variety of activities, which include

- Windsurfing.
Shopping
As well as a wide range of wellknown high street stores and supermarkets, you will find many interesting, specialist shops and boutiques in the Meadow Street ‘lanes’ area of the town. Clarks Village factory outlet is nearby in Street, Cribbs Causeway Shopping Mall is easily accessible via the M5 and the new Cabot Circus Shopping Mall in Bristol is just down the M5.
Eating out
In Weston and the surrounding area you have a wide choice of restaurants. Choose from Chinese, Mexican, Indian, Italian, French and Thai food. There are lots of fast food outlets and restaurants offering affordable options for all kinds of budgets. The College campuses also offer student meals at very reasonable prices, from bar snacks and light lunch menus to more extensive four course meals, available in the College restaurant.
Leisure activities
Facilities include a cinema, two theatres, museums, libraries, sport and leisure centres, swimming pools, pubs and clubs. Special events Weston is famous for hosting International Beach Volleyball, T4 on the Beach and the Enduro - beach motorbike racing.
Bristol and Bath and further afield
Weston is also ideally located for travel to the vibrant city of Bristol which has speedy rail links to our capital city, London. There are also good rail links to Bath and Cardiff. Bath has the unique distinction of being England’s only World Heritage City. It’s also a lively centre with plenty going on. Bristol, a maritime city, is always bustling. It has great facilities and lots of entertainment and is popular with students looking for an alternative to a night out in Weston-super-Mare.
Cardiff is easily reached and a great place to visit. It is a small city with the cultural and recreational amenities you would expect of the capital of Wales.
The market town of Taunton is only 30 minutes away and historic sites in the area include Dartmoor and Exmoor National Park, Glastonbury Tor and Stonehenge.
