The College believes in recruiting and investing in top quality staff to provide the best services and learning opportunities to our students. Once appointed, we want you to be able to realise your potential by providing a supportive environment and encouraging you to develop your skills and abilities.
The College is an Investor in People organisation which demonstrates our commitment to developing and training our staff, supporting them to achieve career goals and preparing them for new responsibilities.
Continuous Professional Development
To ease the start of your employment with Weston College, we will provide you with a full induction programme and your own personal mentor. In addition you will have opportunities to meet with key members of staff at the College on Induction day.
On successful completion of your probation period, you will join the annual appraisal system. This allows personal development needs to be identified in line with the College strategic objectives and these are addressed though a wide range of opportunities including access to internal and external training courses, INSET (whole staff development days) and coaching and mentoring.
Teaching staff are supported to gain both formal teaching qualifications and the required 30 hours for the Institute for Learning.
Support staff are supported to gain a Level 2 qualification where needed or to progress their own professional development where appropriate.
