College Hold Book Signing for Local Author
Weston College is hosting its first ever public reading and book signing to celebrate a local author’s latest work.
The event will present the recently released ‘Rock Chick Rescue’, by local Clevedon author Kristen Ashley, and will take place on March 3rd at 7pm in the library at the College’s Knightstone Campus, Knightstone Road.
Kristen, author of ‘Rock Chick’, the prequel to ‘Rock Chick Rescue’, will be telling the audience about what inspires her, what she’s learnt and her publishing experiences, as well as reading a passage from the new book.
The event is open to the general public and anyone wishing to gain an insight into the world of publishing and writing is welcome to attend.
Louise Hutson, Assistant Librarian at the College, who helped organise the event, said: “We’re delighted to have Kristen at the College to speak about her latest book, ‘Rock Chick Rescue’. It’s a unique opportunity to have a published local author talk to our students and we hope the community will support this exciting event.”
Kristen, an American author who lives in Clevedon, said: “I was delighted when Weston College asked me to speak to their students and when they suggested we open it up to the general public. I very much enjoy talking about my work but also sharing what I’ve learned along the way in hopes of helping others who also dream of becoming a published writer.”
Kirsten’s books will be available for sale and there will also be a Question and Answer session. Refreshments will be available. For further information please contact the Library on 01934 411466 or email library@weston.ac.uk.
