College Hold Annual Higher Education Conference

Weston College are holding their annual Higher Education (HE) and Careers Conference next week.

The Higher Education conference features major UK universities and employers, and will be held at the Winter Gardens in Weston-super-Mare on 9th March from 11am – 3pm.

Over 700 students are expected to attend. The majority of these will be Year 12 students ready to progress to the next stage in their education however any students unsure of their future options are welcome to attend.

There will be a total of 34 exhibitors at the event; a mixture of universities and employers. Representatives from universities such as Bath Spa, Cardiff, Birmingham, Bristol, Exeter, Plymouth and the University of the West of England will be on hand to offer advice on taking the next step after college.

Employers at the event include the Army, North Somerset Council, the Bristol Evening Post and supermarket giants Tesco and Sainsbury's.

Weston College staff will also be available to provide information on Higher Education courses offered by the College. Abby Dobson, Higher Education Officer at Weston College, said: “We’re keen to encourage students to consider all the options once they finish college. Weston College now offers a range of degree level courses, so students are able to access higher education on their doorstep.”
