Following a second popular and successful event in 2009, the Weston-super-Mare Real Ale and Cider Festival as part of the 2010 HELiDAY® Spectacular on the Beach Lawns gets underway on Friday 23rd July through to Sunday 25th July. This year, organisers The Weston Lions Club enlisted the help of Weston College graphic design students to create materials including posters and banners to promote the event.

BA (Hons) Creative Industries: Graphic Design students Adam Hastings, Ross Harrington and Martin Jakeway undertook the promotion of the event as part of their work-based activities on the course, in which they set up their own graphic design company, Drink Tea Eat Biscuits.

Working closely with the Weston Lions, the young designers worked on a range of ideas before developing a solution which combined traditional graphics with a modern twist. Tony Frost, who presented the students with tickets for the event in recognition of all their efforts said "We enjoyed working with Drink Tea Eat Biscuits and the creative ideas produced by the lads are really effective. We now have a professional brand that can be used in many ways which will hopefully attract lots of visitors to the festival."

The Real Ale Festival will have 50 or more beers plus ciders, wine and soft drinks on offer to enjoy interspersed with music at various points through the weekend. Proceeds will go to the Help for Heroes alongside many other local charities. For tickets or other information contact wsmrealale@aol.com
