Jason - Diploma Maintenance Operations, Fast-track

After 19 years employment at the Inland Revenue in an offi cebound job, Jason decided to take voluntary redundancy.

Due to the lack of local employment opportunities available he decided to retrain and enrol on the fast-track building maintenance course at the College.

“I really enjoyed my course and the fact that it was local saved me money on travelling.

“I gained some great work experience during the course as I had the opportunity to get involved in a project in a local wildlife park, building a partition in a lemur pen, whilst the lemurs were still in the pen with us!”

Jason’s plan now he has completed his course is to become self-employed as a general maintenance operative.
