Weston College Sports Bursary Awards

Weston College Sports Bursary Awards are given to full time or part time students, studying in the year of application, at the College, irrespective of their course of study.

The aim of the five, £500 awards, presented annually, is to support students who participate in their sport at regional, national or international level. The money is to be used towards the costs of training or competing in their sport and will be released on receipt of a purchase request form. Receipts will need to be provided on completion of purchase.

The recipients of the awards are decided upon annually, by a committee including:-

A member of the Corporate Management Team
The Head of Faculty (Service Sectors)
The College Sports Coordinator
Additional Academic Member of Staff (Annual rota across Faculties)

Applicants may apply year after year, irrespective of success on previous occasions, as long as they meet the required criteria.

In return, Weston College expects the student to remain competing throughout the year of the award and promote the College in a positive light at all times when training or competing. The awarded student will also need to evidence continued effective engagement with their academic work.
