Supply Chain Warehouse Operative (Apprenticeship Level 2)

Standard overview

This qualification is aimed at individuals who are interesed in working within the logistics sector, in particular within a warehousing environment. The qualification covers the underpinning knowledge requirements to be able to store and receive goods appropriately, as well as exploring how to process and dispatch orders. The principles of effective customer service as well as an understanding of key health and safety legislation are also essential elements of this qualification. A supply chain warehouse operative will often be required to be flexible and work shifts including 4-on-4-off, days, nights, evenings and weekends. The apprenticeship standard for supply chain warehouse Operative was designed by employer representatives of the supply chain and logistics industry, and is suitable for apprentices employed in a wide variety of organisations.

Entry requirements

There are no formal qualifications required to start this apprenticeship but you will be assessed to ensure you have the ability to complete the English and Maths qualification to at least Level 1.

Progression

Upon successful completion, learners may wish to continue their development via the completion of any of the following qualifications/apprenticeships: Level 3 in Warehousing and Storage.

Funding

This apprenticeship standard is funded at Band 4. Levy paying employers may fund apprentices on this programme from their apprenticeship account and non-levy paying SMEs through the co-funded option. This apprenticeship standard is set at level 2.

End assessment

To achieve this apprenticeship standard, the employer, training provider and apprentice will agree when the apprentice is ready and competent to undertake the independent end assessment, which will test their skills knowledge and behaviours required for this role.

Warehouse on programme assessor

Each apprentice will be assigned a designated On-Programme Assessor who will visit them and their manager every two months within their workplace throughout their apprenticeship. On alternate months, Weston College’s On-Programme Assessor will be in contact with the apprentice via email, telephone, 1-to-1 webinars, etc. to support, mentor and discuss progress.

Duration

The minimum duration for this apprenticeship is 12 months with an end assessment in month 13.
