A Level & Technical/Vocational Results Day 2020
13 August 2020 08:00 – 22:50
Your A Level & Technical/Vocational results will be available from 8am on the 13th August 2020 via the Exams tab on your eILP.
A printed results slip will also be posted to you on results day but is not likely to arrive for 2 to 3 days.
If you have any issues accessing your grade via eILP, please feel free to contact us at email@example.com.
As you are aware this year Awarding Bodies asked the college to do the following on your behalf:
- Submit a Centre Assessed Grades based on evidence of your performance
- Position you in rank order with other students having the same Centre Assessed Grade submitted
This detailed process was undertaken by your tutors and their managers to ensure accuracy and fair play. The college Quality Team then looked at the overall college submission before it was finally signed off by our Head of Centre.
If on results day you are not happy with your result(s) then you may have grounds for appeal (which the college must submit on your behalf), the Awarding Body Deadline is the 17th September 2020. You can only appeal if you think that there has been an error in the process not because you do not agree with the grade awarded.
The grounds on which you could appeal are:
- You think there might have been a mistake when college submitted your Centre Assessed Grade
- You think the Exam Board might have made a mistake when calculating your grade
- You think your result has been affected by wrong doing such as bias or discrimination
You cannot appeal because:
- You don’t agree with the Centre Assessed Grade given by the college
- You don’t agree with the statistical standardisation model used by the Exam Board
If you believe that you would have gained a better grade had, you sat the exam or would like to improve your grade then there is an Autumn Exam series (5 – 23 October 2020) opportunity. The Awarding Body deadline for entry is 4 September 2020.
Please speak to College Exams and Assessment Services 01934 411411 ext. 1377 or email firstname.lastname@example.org who will help you determine if you have a basis for appeal. You must remember that grades can go up, down or stay the same.
Should you wish to appeal the decision reached by Exams you can ask to be referred to the Quality Team.
The Careers Advice Team will be running a remote, bookable 1:1 advice service, specifically for those receiving results, from 8:30am-5pm on Thursday 13 and 8:30am-4:30pm Friday 14 August.
You can also call 01934 411415/411682 or contact via Teams (@Lisa Hall, @Jasmine Morton or @Sally Bebb).
Please do not come into college, as it is not open to learners, instead contact a member of the team; if it is essential for you to come in to college, we will organise a time slot for you.
If, once you have received your results, you have queries about your qualification grade(s) please contact Exams on 01934 411411 ext. 1377 or email email@example.com as our team cannot answer those queries. You should already have received an email from Exams to your WS email, explaining how to access your results on 13 August; this email also explains the process if you wish to consider an appeal, which must be via College, or to re-sit exams in the autumn series.
Do get in contact if you would like our support, even if it’s just for a quick chat to help you decide on your options.
