College To Host Brean Rally Scrutineering
Weston College will once again play host to the Brean Stages Rally scrutineering on Friday 26 January 2018.
Around 100 cars will be welcomed at the College’s South West Skills Campus on Locking Road for the pre-rally scrutineering. This event involves the cars being checked by inspectors from the event organisers to ensure they are up to standard for the event.
This event provides the College’s motorsport students with the opportunity to meet and speak to people in the industry, and get the chance to learn about the process from the experts.
The rally organisers, Club Rallysport West, will also get to take advantage of the College's £1 million Automotive Technology Centre facilities, which offer industry-standard facilities. Members of the public are also invited to view the scrutineering free of charge between 1pm – 6pm.
Chris Priest, Subject Area Manager for Motor Vehicle at Weston College, said: “The fact that Brean Stages Rally consistently chooses Weston College over other available options is a huge complement to our facilities, staff and students here, in particular at our Automotive Training Centre.”
The rally itself is due to take place on 27th and 28th January at Brean Leisure Park. The competition consists of 12 stages, which have been split into six per day.
From mid-day entry and exit from the Skills Campus will be through the main barrier. The Automotive Training Centre car park is closed.
