Looking for employment or how to re-train? Advice now available in the Sovereign Centre

Weston College’s Employment Services Team are taking over Spacebar, in the Sovereign Centre, every Friday in November to offer advice and support, to local people looking for employment or to retrain.

The drop-in sessions are available from 10am – 3pm, with tea and coffee available to those wanting to access guidance from the experts – whether that be people made redundant recently, or those facing multiple challenges on their journey into work or further education.

This isn’t the first event of its kind, after a successful pilot took place in October, resulting in multiple people signing up for courses.

Nick Phillips, Head of Employment Services at Weston College, said: “We offer a real range of short courses that help people to retrain, upskill, or start a career in a brand-new industry to them.

“The good news is that our courses are free to people who are unemployed, receiving universal credit, job seeker’s allowance, employment support allowance, or those attending a work-related activity group.

“We are really looking forward to meeting people at our drop in sessions, and offering much needed support to our local community.

“If you’re looking for support, come and chat to us, we can find a course for you.”
