The Fashion and Textiles A Level is designed to develop your artistic skills and open doors to a creative career in the fashion industry. Throughout this programme, you will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of artistic processes and techniques specifically tailored to fashion and textiles, both traditional and experimental. Our comprehensive curriculum covers various areas of fashion and textiles, including fashion design, garment construction, textile printing, surface embellishment, fashion illustration, and creative software.

Taking this course will encourage you to find your own style, while gathering inspiration from other designers and their work. You will also be inspired to be inventive and experiment with techniques and processes you’ve not tried before.

Located at Loxton Campus, our purpose-built facility simulates a fashion design studio environment, preparing you for future higher education studies and a career in the fashion industry. You will have access to subject-specific spaces and equipment, including cutting tables, sewing machines, pattern drafting tools, and textile printing facilities, allowing you to fully explore different techniques and mediums in fashion and textiles.

You'll also attend guest lectures from industry professionals, visit fashion companies and exhibitions, and participate in fashion-related trips, all of which will broaden your horizons and provide valuable insights into the professional fashion world. You'll be taught by experienced teachers who are passionate about fashion and textiles. When you study with us, you will automatically join our Career Excellence Hub and benefit from a range of opportunities designed to enhance your career prospects in the fashion industry. We have established strong partnerships with respected fashion employers, enabling you to gain valuable work experience in June of year one and February of year two. We'll support you in finding suitable placements or provide a week of experiences within the College.

In the first year of your course, you'll have the opportunity to follow a pathway that aligns with your career aspirations in the fashion industry. Choose from options such as creative, or media, which will provide you with additional skills and experiences to enhance your career prospects.

Our dedicated Tutor Learning Mentors are committed to helping you develop effective study skills and prepare for exams. Additionally, we offer dedicated assistance and guidance for interviews, whether you're applying to universities or seeking job opportunities in the fashion industry.
