Team North Somerset

Team North Somerset (TNS) is a unique and pioneering partnership of several high-profile organisations in North Somerset, including Weston College, North Somerset Council and Alliance Homes.

The aim of TNS is to support the most vulnerable and disadvantaged people in our communities to secure sustainable employment.

We believe in “giving everyone a chance”, and helping people to find work by providing them with one-to-one support from a friendly and approachable job coach. We work in partnership with many organisations and believe that “together we can achieve more” to provide a tailored end to end service and support for both potential new employees and employers.

Team North Somerset’s focus is to:

  • Promote economic growth, jobs, prosperity and wellbeing
  • Share resources and deliver a consistent approach
  • Tailor specific programmes to meet everyone’s individual needs
  • Work with employers to help them achieve their Corporate Social Responsibility
  • Match jobs to ideal candidates.

Real Life Stories

Team North Somerset believes everyone should be given a chance! We are lucky to have worked with many great participants, take a look at some of their stories below...

Everyone needs a Lisa (Wellbeing and Work coach), she was so positive and supportive, as she always promoted a can do attitude. Lisa got me thinking and unravelled the talent and drive that I had hidden away, she encouraged me to keep going on when the going was tough.

The help from Team North Somerset was resounding and working with them has made me realise my dreams and given me the confidence to go out and start my own business. I am now focussed, positive and excited about the future of my business, Velvet Wolf.

I think Team North Somerset are amazing, I can’t thank them enough for helping me through a really difficult time. Team North Somerset helped me prove that I could get a job if I applied in the right way and I had applied for hundreds in the wrong way. I can’t believe that I have made new friends and that everyone is so caring here. I will never forget how everyone has helped me.

I feel I struggled with my confidence and getting myself out there when I came onto the Team North Somerset programme. When I started working with my job coach Wendy, my confidence grew and I have developed as a person in my own right.

The programme helped remind me of my own potential and that I am capable of doing great things. With the help of Team North Somerset on the West of England Works programme, I have gone from strength to strength. I now feel so confident, independent and I feel like I can tackle anything.

I desperately needed the support and you could say it gave me a positive push in the right direction. I am so proud that I have managed to find work despite the barriers I have faced. The help from Team North Somerset has been excellent.
