What will I do on this course?
This apprenticeship covers the following roles: cyber security administrator, access control administrator, incident response technician, junior security operations centre (SOC) analyst, junior information security analyst, junior threat and risk analyst, junior penetration tester, junior security analyst.
You will have the opportunity to combine ‘on-the-job training’ with study in a college environment.
You will start by learning the basics across several different areas. the first year, you will be taught the technical knowledge and practical competencies needed to complete your apprenticeship.
You will also work in our dedicated computing and digital classrooms and lab to develop new skills.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through workplace observations and practical tests. You will also complete online tests, assignments and produce a portfolio of evidence.
This will be part of your end-point assessment.
What could I do after this course?
Most learners will progress into a technician-level position. You could also progress to related higher education programmes, such as the degrees or degree apprenticeships on offer at University Centre Weston.
Individual employers will set the selection criteria, but this is likely to include 3 GCSEs at grade 4 or higher including maths, English and science, or equivalent. You will also need to be in relevant employment, but we can help you find this.
