Hospitality and Catering, Traineeship

What will I do on this course?

The traineeship is a flexible programme designed to develop your workplace skills and knowledge and build your English and maths.

It is suitable for those who wish to study an intermediate apprenticeship but have not yet gained an employer. It is also a good choice for those who may need a little longer to study at Level 2 or who need more time with English and maths in order to be ready to progress to Level 3.

You will attend College two to three days a week to study English, maths, employment rights and responsibilities and work towards the Level 2 qualification. You will also undertake a traineeship placement two days per week.

How will I be assessed?

We’ll assess your English, maths, practical skills, projects and placement performance in college and in your work place.

What could I do after this course?

When you are able to secure an apprenticeship employer, the work you do on the traineeship will be carried over to your apprenticeship qualification. This makes it an excellent preparation. You could also progress to a full time Level 2 or Level 3 programme - your tutor can advise.

Entry Requirements

A minimum of five GCSEs at grade 9-2 or a qualifying Level 1 qualification.

iAn interview is required for this course.
