Computing and Digital Technical Progression Programme
While our world becomes increasingly more computer oriented, knowledge on computing and IT will advance your career, with a huge variety of job opportunities once you’re qualified.
This programme is perfect for developing your existing computing and IT skills and knowledge while also engaging you with the many employment opportunities available in the sector, before progressing onto a Level 3 programme
There will be the opportunity to take part in a computing project in a specialist area. Alongside your course, you can join our Esports academy, train for national competitions and become an ambassador for the area.
What does the course involve?
You will learn about the essentials of IT and cyber security, programming, creating websites, Esports, and emerging technologies.
As part of this study programme, you will develop your maths and English skills, attend tutorials and Individual Development (ID). You will also complete a work placement and an employer set project. All aspects will be discussed with you at interview.
How will the course be assessed?
You will be assessed through coursework, practical projects, group work and a number of exams.
Are there any additional costs?
Some programmes may require a dress code, this will be discussed further at interview.
What future study opportunities and careers are there?
This programme has been designed to support you to progress to the Digital T Level, or a Level 3 in Computing, all of which you can complete with Weston College.
