What will I do on this course?
This course will develop your existing computing and IT skills and knowledge while also engaging you with the many employment opportunities available in the sector. This is a work-related course and you will be set a number of projects that are based on realistic workplace situations. You will study units such as:
- Essentials of IT
- Essentials of Cyber Security
- Data Analysis
- Emerging Technology
As part of this study programme you will also continue develop your maths and English skills, attend tutorials and Individual Development (ID). You will also complete a work placement with an employer and an employer set project.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through coursework, practical projects, group work and exams. You will also be assessed throughout your work placement.
What could I do after this course?
Most students opt to continue studies at level three and aim to start a T Level upon completion. Some students enter employment into a roles such as Junior IT Support Technician.
A minimum of five GCSEs at grade 9-2, with at least two at grade 4 or a qualifying Level 1 qualification.
