Transition to T Level or Apprenticeship: Education and Childcare
In September 2020 we are introducing this transition course. It will significantly enhance your chance to progress onto and complete a T Level or Apprenticeship in education and/or childcare.
You will develop professional skills for industry as well as personal, social and employability skills. The CACHE developed Level 2 Qualification in Education and Childcare will provide you with the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to progress into skilled employment or higher level technical training or study in the education and childcare sector.
There will be three occupational specialisms within this new qualification, all of which will consist of both classroom-based and practical learning.
- Early years education and childcare
- Assisting teaching
- Supporting and mentoring students in Further and Higher Education.
You will also be provided with the opportunity to gain valuable work experience.
If you haven’t achieved a grade 4 in English or maths you will have the opportunity to work towards a qualifications.
As part of this study programme you will attend tutorials and Individual Development (ID). All of this will be invaluable in supporting progression in other areas.
All aspects of your study programme will be discussed at your interview.
How will I be assessed?
There will be two external written papers, observations to be conducted and graded at your placement and assignments to include a work-based project.
What could I do after this course?
Education T Level 3 or Apprenticeship Level 3 in Teaching Assistants or Early Years.

What is a T Level?
T Levels are brand new courses, which will follow GCSEs and Technical Awards and offer an attractive alternative to A Levels and Apprenticeships. T Levels will combine classroom theory, practical learning and a minimum 55-day (315-750 hours) industry placement with an employer to make sure you have real experience of the workplace....

Entry to this programme will require: 4 GCSE at grade 4 (one in English or maths is preferred).

Primary or Nursery Education Teaching Professional
Primary (and middle school deemed primary) and nursery education teaching professionals plan, organise and provide instruction to children at all levels up to the age of entry into secondary education.

Special Needs Education Teaching Professional
Special needs education teaching professionals organise and provide instruction at a variety of different levels to children who have emotional, behavioural or learning difficulties or physical disabilities. These professionals may also work with exceptionally gifted pupils.
