What will I do on this course?
This high-quality Level 3 engineering course can lead to an exciting career as an engineer. Equivalent to three A Levels, this two-year extended diploma has a blend of core engineering subjects, but also explores the future technologies that influence the sector.
The qualification offers both a practical and academic focus and will provide you with skills, knowledge and understanding of subjects such as robotics, pneumatics, hydraulics, electronic principles, materials and 3D printing within our new Engineering Centre workshops and laboratories.
As part of this study programme you will develop your maths and English skills, attend tutorials and Individual Development (ID) or Future Academy. You will also complete a work placement or extended industry placement. All aspects of your study programme will be discussed at your interview.
How will I be assessed?
We will assess your assignments, practical work and final project.
What could I do after this course?
Most learners progress onto the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering (Year 2) and then onto university level study or an apprenticeship degree. Some learners seek an apprenticeship to learn on the job or move straight into employment.
Five GCSEs at grade 9-4, including English, maths and science. You’ll also be asked to attend an interview.
