What will I do on this course?
This Level 3 Engineering Technologies course is ideal if you’re interested in a career in the engineering sector. It could lead to job roles such as maintenance engineer, mechanical engineer, welder, fabricator, and electrical or electronic engineer.
You’ll learn about computer-automated and robotic system principles, analogue and digital circuit principles and faults, and engineering health and safety. There’s also a focus on learning new practical skills in fabrication and welding.
As part of this study programme you will develop your maths and English skills, attend tutorials and Individual Development (ID) or Future Academy. You will also complete a work placement or extended industry placement. All aspects of your study programme will be discussed at your interview.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through workshop assessments, practical observations, and a portfolio.
What could I do after this course?
You could enter employment in a variety of engineering roles, or enhance your skills with an extended diploma or apprenticeship in engineering at Weston College.
Science, English and maths GCSEs at grades 9-4, and ideally, a recognised Level 2 engineering qualification. You’ll also be asked to attend an interview.
