Health, Technical Progression Programme
If you want to develop knowledge in Health and Social Care but are not quite ready to start the full T Level, this transition programme is the answer for you. It will equip you with the skills, knowledge and behaviours required to successfully progress onto our T Level in Health, while also discussing the future career opportunities that best suit you and your aims.
This course is part of our Career Excellence Hubs, which brings you closer to industry than ever before. You will hear from people within the industry, who will equip you with the latest skills, to enhance your future career opportunities.
What does the course involve?
You will learn about human growth and development, safeguarding and protection, equality and diversity in practice, mental health and wellbeing, and social care values. You will also study a science qualification to ensure you are prepared and at an academic science level to progress on to either of the Level 3 courses
As part of this programme of study, you will complete an employer project that is developed, endorsed, and validated by key employers within the health sector. Additionally, you will engage with work placements to develop the underpinning professional skills and practices required in the sector. You will also develop your English, digital and maths skills, attend tutorials, and participate in SIM sessions and an industry placement.
How will the course be assessed?
You will be assessed through exams, coursework, presentations, and practical activities.
Are there any additional costs?
Learners will be required to purchase a polo shirt to wear in all sessions at college, in SIM room sessions and whilst at placement.
What future study opportunities and careers are there?
This programme of study will prepare you for progression onto our Level 3 T Level in Health. Additionally, you could progress into a health and social care related apprenticeship or Level 3 BTEC in Health and Social Care.
