If you’re passionate and looking to gain valuable knowledge and skills about computers, how they run, and they’re architecture, Computer Science will be the course for you. The course requires thinking both in concrete and abstract terms.
Though it will be demanding, as the world is becoming more dependent on computer systems, having qualifications in this topic will help you stand out to employers.

What does the course involve?
You will learn the technical aspects of computer science. This programme has an emphasis on abstract thinking, general problem solving, algorithmic and mathematical reasoning, and scientific and engineering-based thinking.
You will gain the knowledge, understanding and skills required to progress your learning to a higher level or enter the workplace. Studying mathematics alongside this A Level is mandatory as it complements the subject matter and will allow you to progress.
How will the course be assessed?
A combination of exams and coursework in your second year.
What future study opportunities and careers are there?
This programme can lead to university study with degrees in computer science, artificial intelligence, games design or many other areas.
