IT Practitioners, BTEC Certificate and Subsidiary Diploma

This programme will improve your knowledge and practical skills in IT, considering IT systems, social media in business, data modelling, information management and website development. You will find out how computer systems work and learn to utilise different applications.

Assignments are based on workplace situations, so you will get an insight to the careers available in IT and what it is like to work in the industry. The extended certificate (completed in year two) is the equivalent to an A Level and can contribute to your UCAS points.

How will I be assessed?

There is a mix of assignment coursework and external assessment, with a controlled assessment in year one and an exam in year two.

What could I do after this course?

You could progress could also progress to the degree in BSc (Hons) Applied Computing or a Degree Apprenticeship in Digital and Technological Solutions at University Centre Weston. You could progress to a degree-level course, such as the degree in Applied Computing at University Centre Weston, or an apprenticeship or seek employment in a related field.


Entry Requirements

Five GCSEs at grade 9-4, including English and maths.
