Performance Arts, UAL Diploma
This course will develop a solid skill base in all areas of the Performing and Production Arts industry. You will have the opportunity to understand and experience the many possible career paths within this exciting industry.
Subjects are studied through an intense vocational timetable. You will learn and develop your skills in Acting, Dancing, Singing, Physical Theatre, Movement Skills and Production Arts. Additionally, Contextual Studies and Professional Profile are also studied so that you understand the history of Performing Arts and are well prepared for your next steps in education.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through a number of projects throughout the year. For your final assessment you have the option to audition and perform for a full-scale production. Past productions have included:
- Made in Dagenham by Richard Bean
- Thoroughly Modern Millie by Dick Scanlan and Richard Morris
- Oliver! By Lionel Bart
- The Wonderful World of Dissocia by Anthony Neilson
- Comic Potential by Alan Ayckbourn
- Lord of the Flies by William Golding
What could I do after this course?
Successful completion of this course will enable you to progress onto a Level 3 (Diploma/Extended Diploma) course in one of the relevant pathways.
Entry Requirements
A minimum of five GCSEs at grade 9-2 with at least two at grade 4, or a qualifying Level 1 qualification and a successful audition/interview.
