Uniformed Services, Certificate
This course is perfect for you to understand the Uniformed services as a potential area of employment. It will provide you with an introduction into what services including the police, fire service and armed forces do, and what skills and knowledge they must acquire before starting their career in that role. This course will also develop your teamwork skills, a crucial skill in the Uniformed services.

What does the course involve?
The focus is to learn and develop new skills, as well as providing understanding of what the Uniformed services do; employment opportunities, wellbeing and physical fitness, teamwork, self-discipline, map reading and navigation, health and safety, emergency care, and competitive sports.
This qualification also includes access to Weston Sport and enrichment programmes, tutorial support, employability and study skills. Plus, we’ll work with you to develop your English and maths skills to the level that most employers look for.
How will the course be assessed?
This programme is assessed through coursework, presentations and practical activities, with no formal assessment at the end. We will support you throughout all aspects of your study.
Are there any additional costs?
During the course, there will be several trips and outdoor activities arranged, at an additional cost. These are not mandatory trips.
What future study opportunities and careers are there?
This programme could be your first step into the public, armed or community services. You could further develop your skills by progressing to a Level 2 programme in Uniformed Services or Sport at Weston College.
