Uniformed Services (Entry Into), NCFE Diploma
This course is perfect for providing information and preparing learners interested in working in the Uniformed Services, as well as the recruitment process and how to stand out to employers. By completing this course, you will find yourself on the way to a very rewarding career of making a real difference to the helping and aiding of the general public.
Studying this course means that you will also be part of our Public Services Career Excellence Hub, which is endorsed by leading employers, who are actively involved throughout your whole training programme.
What does the course involve?
The topics you will cover include employment in the uniformed services; physical fitness; teamwork and problem solving; health, safety and hygiene; map reading and navigation; and uniformed services routine.
It also includes a specialist unit, focussing on either adventurous activities or competitive sports. This qualification will also include access to Weston Sport and enrichment programmes, tutorial support, employability and study skills.
As part of this study programme you will develop your maths and English skills, attend tutorials and Individual Development (ID). You will also complete a work placement or extended industry placement. All aspects of your study programme will be discussed at your interview.
How is the course assessed?
You will be assessed through exams, coursework, presentations and practical activities.
Are there any additional costs?
During the course, there will be several trips and outdoor activities arranged, at an additional cost. These are not mandatory trips.
What future study opportunities and careers are there?
You will be qualified for a wide range of jobs in the public services industry. You could also enhance your skills by progressing on to the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Protective Services at Weston College.
