Access to HE Diploma: Business and Law
This course is designed for people aged over 19 years, who would like to start their business and/or law career, by taking the first step towards university. The course is delivered via blended learning 50% face-to-face and 50% online via Teams.
The qualification gives you the relevant academic subject knowledge needed for higher education study and the opportunity to develop study skills to help you to succeed. It is well established and widely accepted by universities, qualifying for UCAS tariff points that are comparable to the tariff points for three A levels.
The Diploma provides you with a wide choice of units to support progression into law and/or business management higher education programmes. The mandatory units ensures that you have a good understanding of themes relevant to business management and law.
Assessment method
During the course you will work on a portfolio of work which is Internally set, internally marked and externally moderated.
Progression opportunities
Learners primarily progress to higher education study in areas related to business and law. These may include some of the following areas of degree level study:
- Business and Law
- Business Studies
- Marketing
- LLB
- LLB Business Law and Business Management and Law.
Students are advised to contact universities prior to commencing this Access to HE Diploma to check specific entry criteria.
You could progress locally to UWE or the University Centre Weston (UCW) and study BA (Hons) Uniformed and Public Services or the BA (Hons) Business Management and Sustainability

Entry Requirements
It is expected that applicants should have a GCSE grade 4/C in English and maths (Level 2 equivalents will be considered, but applicants must check that this will be accepted by their chosen university prior to starting on the Access course). If you do not have these qualification please contact us as you can work towards these beforehand or alongside this course.
