Floristry, Award
This course is designed for people aged over 19 years who are looking to increase their floristry skills. You may already have a role in floristry and want to improve your skills and take on more responsibility, or you may be just starting out and considering floristry as a career option.
If you love plants and flowers, and you have artistic talents, floristry could be the career you are looking for. Florists use their creativity and knowledge of plants and flowers to design and assemble floral arrangements, bouquets and wreaths.
The Level 2 Floristry Award will help you develop skills in basic floristry by creating a wide variety of floral designs including tied and wired designs and arrangements in foam. You will study colour theory, principles of design, and botanical terms to help you design for a variety of occasions including funerals, weddings and other events and celebrations.
You will also develop good communication skills, to explain your ideas to customers, and great customer service skills too. During this course you will be given support and guidance in practical workshops, and you will complete coursework and work experience, equipping you with the knowledge and skills required to progress in a wide range of career opportunities in the floristry industry.
There will be an additional cost of approx. £20 to cover materials. Information on this will arrive 2 weeks before the course date via email once you have enrolled.
