Level 2
Accounts/ Finance Assistant, Apprenticeship
If you’re looking to begin a career in Accounting or Finance, an apprenticeship is a great way to start! By learning on the job with professionals, while also earning a wage, you’ll pick up skills and knowledge that you can carry with you all the way to a full-time job! With qualifications to take while you’re there, you’ll be gaining experience and industry-recognised certificates all in one.
Studying this course means that you will also be part of our Business Career Excellence Hub, which is endorsed by leading employers, who are actively involved throughout your whole training programme.
What does the course involve?
The Level 2 apprenticeship provides valuable workplace skills and experience, while you earn a wage. You will spend 4 days a week with an employer and one day or two evenings a week at college to learn the theoretical elements of the role. You will undertake a number of qualifications including the AAT Level 2 in Accounting. This programme covers a range of topics such as bookkeeping and costing etc. We will also work with you to develop your maths and English skills.
How will the course be assessed?
You will complete the AAT examinations, a synoptic assessment and an end point assessment.
Are there any additional costs?
You will be required to become a member of the AAT and there are also optional AAT books that will assist you with your studies.
What future study opportunities and careers are there?
The majority of Weston College apprentices are kept on by their employer after they finish their programme. After this apprenticeship you could progress to the Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship Level 3.
