Civil Engineering, Apprenticeship
The Civil Engineering Advanced Apprenticeship is for school leavers (16-19s), and will increase your industry knowledge and is supported by a training programme that teaches you the skills and qualities that employers look for. You will learn about the design, development, construction, commissioning, decommissioning, operation and maintenance of the built environment and infrastructure.
You can expect to gain a broad skills base to work in areas which include sustainable construction, structural integrity, geotechnics, materials, tunnelling, marine and coastal engineering, water, waste management, flood management, transportation, and power.
How will I be assessed?
The end-point assessment, is typically, undertaken in the last two months of the apprenticeship.
What could I do after this course?
The majority of our apprentices are kept on by their employer at the end of their programme. Many move on to degree-level study. You can progress to the HNC in Construction and the Built Environment (Civil Engineering) at University Centre Weston or can progress to a Level 4 apprenticeship that we also run.
You will need five GCSEs at grade 5 and above, including English and maths. You will also need to be in relevant employment, but we can help you find this.
