Counselling Skills, Certificate (Online)
This course will develop your counselling skills and is essential if you are looking to pursue a career in counselling.
It’s aimed at those who have a range of life experiences and wish to channel them into supporting others from a variety of walks of life.
This course will consist of online taught session (70%) and in class practical skills builder lessons (30%). You will be required to attend a minimum 30 hours within the skills builder lessons before your assessment at the end of the course. The skills builder lessons will run over 3 different weeks with a variety of different time slots that include a Tuesday evening to allow you to be able to attend at times that suit.
You will benefit from being taught by our highly trained staff, who have years of experience within the sector and still currently within the sector. They’ll encourage you to develop self-awareness skills to enable you to support others through a client-centred approach.

- Using counselling skills
- Active listening
- Diversity and ethics
- Key theories
- Practical application of skills
How will I be assessed?
The course is assessed through assignment work submitted online via Microsoft Teams and a practical demonstration of counselling skills.
After this course you could progress to a Level 3 qualification in counselling or a foundation degree.
There are no formal entry requirements
