Counselling, First Steps
This course will provide you with the strategies needed to communicate effectively with children and young people.
You’ll use creative methods of exploration, manage common behaviours and develop effective skills to work with pressures young people may experience.
You will also focus on keeping children and young people safe, which covers topics including legislation, multi-agency working and safeguarding.
The evening courses will be delivered over six weeks, from 6pm-9pm, with some time allocated for tutorials. A typical week will comprise learning core communication skills, practising a variety of strategies and learning about theories and process. All work will be assessed through a weekly activities and learners will also participate in small and large group discussions.
There are no formal entry requirements for this course.
