Early Years Educator, NCFE CACHE Diploma
This course is designed for people aged over 19 who want to progress in their early years career.
If you are looking for a rewarding career working with children in a nursery, school, or pre-school environment, or if you are already working in an early years setting and are looking to increase your knowledge and training, then this is the ideal course for you.
The Level 3 Early Years Educator NFCE CACHE Diploma provides learners with an in-depth understanding and the knowledge and skills required to become an early years educator. This qualification covers all aspects of the role of an early years educator, enabling you to work with children aged 0-5 years. All aspects of your study programme will be discussed at your interview.
You will develop your knowledge and understanding of a wide variety of topics that apply to early years settings. More than just increasing your knowledge of the theory and principles of early years practice, you will also develop your practical and applied skills by working, volunteering, or taking part in a practical placement in a suitable setting, as an important part of your assessment process.
This course promotes teaching and learning to make sure that children have the social, developmental, educational, and cognitive skills they need to fulfil their potential.

Assessment method
You will be assessed through a combination of practical assessments, projects, and workplace performance. There will be an end-point assessment consisting of a professional discussion and a knowledge test.
Additional costs
If you require a workforce DBS check, there will be a charge of approximately £60. We can support you through the DBS process.
Progression opportunities
Following successful completion of this course you could progress to a role in a nursery, pre-school or school. You could also increase your skills with a degree in BA (Hons) Early Years, BA (Hons) Education, Society and Childhood or a BA (Hons) Send and Inclusive Practice at University Centre Weston.

Entry Requirements
Acceptance is dependent on securing a placement of at least 8 hours in an Early Years setting, unless you are already employed in an early years setting. You will need to arrange this and bring a letter from the setting. It is also dependent on a satisfactory enhanced DBS check. College can support you through the DBS process if you are not already in employment. If you do not already have GCSE in English and maths you are strongly advised to undertake this alongside your course.
