Teach in Prisons - Level 3 Award in Education and Training
This course is designed to give you the essential skills to be able to confidently work as a tutor, trainer or support worker. This is a good starting point for anyone intending to work in Adult or Prison Education or who will be responsible for training and developing colleagues in their workplace.
Upon successful completion, you will be guaranteed an interview for a one of our many Tutor roles at HMP Bristol or HMP Eastwood Park.
This is a very exciting opportunity for anyone who is keen to make a difference and have a positive impact on other people's lives.
This includes:
- The roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training
- Inclusive learning and teaching approaches
- Understanding assessment
- Delivery of a Micro Teach
Assessment
To achieve the qualification, learners must complete 3 core units. You will be assessed via written tasks and a 20-minute micro teach session.
Entry Requirements
No entry requirements.
This course is suitable if you wish to teach in further education (post-16). Prospective learners must be over 19, have an English GCSE at grade D or equivalent and be able to evidence a subject specialism for the area they intend to teach or train. You’ll also need to attend an Information and Guidance interview.
Future career and study opportunities
Once you complete this course you may be able to progress on to a level 4 or level 5 qualification.
