Welding Skills, Certificate
This course is designed for people aged over 19 years and provides the opportunity to learn, develop and practice the skills required for employment or career progression in the engineering sector.
The Level 2 Certificate is ideal for anyone who wants to increase their knowledge of welding, metal fabrication and cutting. You will gain industry recognised welding skills and improve your confidence in your current role, or your employment opportunities as you search for a new role.
You will have the opportunity to learn and practice your new skills in our brand-new state-of-the-art £650k welding facility. This includes a ‘virtual welder’ simulation, allowing you to learn basic techniques in your initial training. You will also learn about health and safety requirements and develop the personal skills and attributes required to confidently study and achieve your full potential.

- Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG)
- Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) Aluminium
- Manual Metal Arc (MMA)
- Metal Active Gas (MAG)
- Oxy Acetylene (OA)
Assessment method
You will need to complete practical assignments and oral tests for each unit. These assignments and tests will assess your knowledge, understanding and skills.
Progression opportunities
Successful completion of this course allows learners to achieve welding qualification BS4872 (additional costs apply).

Entry Requirements
Hold a related subject qualification at Level 1 or hold 5 GCSEs at grade 9-2 with at least 2 at grade 4. Relevant experience may also be satisfactory and will be considered for all applicants.
