Fabrication & Welding, EAL Diploma
This course is taught in our brand-new £650k welding facility, which includes a ‘virtual welder’ simulation allowing you to learn basic techniques in your initial training.
This programme covers the fundamental skills and knowledge common to all engineering practices, but is particularly geared towards developing skills to work towards a career as a welder fabricator.
On this course you’ll develop your practical skills and knowledge, in areas such as MIG welding, sheet metal working, and thick plate work. This programme enables you to acquire engineering competencies in realistic, sheltered, and controlled environment workshops.
How will I be assessed?
You will have a portfolio of performance, as well as being asked verbal/written questions, a witness testimony and assessor observations.
Next Step
This will then enable a safe progression into the workplace / employment, an apprenticeship or further study.
Fees
Your course may be FREE if you live in the South West of England (including the West of England Combined Authority) and:
*You are defined as being unemployed.
- You are employed, or self-employed, and earn less than £17,374.50 annual gross salary or less than £18,525.00 (West of England Combined Authority postcodes).
- If you are 19-23 (all postcodes) or 50+ (West of England Combined Authority postcodes only) and do not hold a full Level 2 qualification.
