Eating Disorders, Introduction
This course designed for people aged over 19 years and will provide you with a basic understanding of eating disorders and their impact on individuals and those supporting them.
The course is perfect for anyone working in mental health or working with children and teenagers. As eating disorders often start during puberty, this course is great if you work in a school or college as it will help you to spot the signs of people in your care who may have issues with food. Taught by our knowledgeable staff, this course runs over six weeks and focuses on class-based discussion and activities that will inform your learning.
We will help you fully understand what an eating disorder means and how this type of mental health issue can impact health, emotions, and the ability to function in important areas of life. Covering all the major eating disorders such as Anorexia, Bulimia and Binge Eating Disorder, the course will help you understand how you may be able to help people that have an eating disorder.
Assessment method
There are no formal assessments, however we work through practical sessions to ensure understanding.
Progression opportunities
After completion of this course, you may choose to attend one of our CPD workshops.
