Healthcare Support, Diploma
Healthcare support staff can work in a variety of different settings within the NHS and private care facilities. The role of the support staff is to provide assistance to healthcare professionals in diagnosing, treating and caring for patients.
The Level 3 Diploma in Healthcare Support provides you with the knowledge, understanding and skills required to work in a range of healthcare support settings.
The content of this course is applicable to a variety of roles, examples of which are included below:
- Adult nursing support
- Maternity support
- Theatre support
- Mental health support
- Children and young people’s support
- Allied health profession (therapy support).
This qualification will require face to face attendance on a Wednesday evening from 6pm until 9pm at our Health and Active Living Campus alongside self-directed study during the week to support your progress.

Online assessments throughout the course.

Upon completion of this course you may like to consider a course at UCW or move into employment.
Fees
This course is FREE if you are aged 19+, do not have a Level 3 qualification (A-Level equivalent), and currently live in the South West.
Entry Requirements
A minimum of GCSE English Language at Level 4 or above and to have/the availability to gain a clean DBS. You will need to be working, volunteering or on practical placement to be able to show competence in both knowledge and skills. If you need support in gaining a placement we are here to support you.
