What will I do on this course?

This online course is designed to teach you the key principles of dignity, duty of care and safeguarding as applied to adult health and social care.

This qualification is suitable for those who wish to understand the approaches to care and support of those with mental health problems.

The course aims to raise the awareness of the role of the mental health worker and the process and approaches involved in the care and support of those who experience mental ill health.

What will be covered:

  • Understand the role of the mental health worker
  • Mental health and mental health issues
  • Understand duty of care in adult and health and social care
  • Approaches to care and management in mental health
  • Understanding change and support in relation to mental health

How will I be assessed?

There is no formal exam. Instead, you will need to demonstrate achievement of all learning outcomes within each module by submitting and passing all assessed activities within the course.

Upon successful completion, you will be awarded the NCFE/CACHE L2 Certificate in Working with People with Mental Health Needs.

You will have access to the College’s online portal. Once logged in you will be able to access your course materials, lessons and resources at any time.

Entry Requirements

Eligibility for FREE Distance Learning courses:

  • Learners must be aged 19 years or over
  • Must have lived in the EU for the last three years
  • Must currently reside in England, in a post code outside of Greater Manchester, Liverpool City, Cambridge & Peterborough, Tees Valley and the West Midlands.

Please note: An administration fee of £100 will be incurred if you withdraw from the course. For funding reasons you can only enrol on one course at a time.
