Plumbing and Domestic Heating Technician, Apprenticeship
You will either undertake a gas or environmental technologies pathway where you will learn how to select, install, test and commission different types of systems. In addition to this you will also cover a range of topics, including health and safety, core plumbing systems, electrical components and control systems. You will also attend College for one day a week to learn the technical side of your trade. The apprenticeship covers a range of topics, including health and safety, core plumbing systems, electrical components and control systems, plumbing science and processes and the principles of fossil fuels.
This apprenticeship is for school leavers (16-19s).
How will I be assessed?
Your end point assessment will include a multi-choice exam, a design project, practical installation test and a professional discussion. This will occur in the last 3 months of your apprenticeship.
What could I do after this course?
Most of our apprentices are kept on by their employers at the end of their programme. You can also increase your skills and unlock higher-paid roles by studying Weston College’s Level 3 Diploma in Plumbing.
Entry Requirements
You will have previously completed a Level 2 plumbing and heating apprenticeship or NVQ to start this programme. You will also need to be in relevant employment, but we can help you find this. You will also need to be assessed to ensure you can complete the English and maths requirement.
