Skills for Maths
This part-time course will give you skills to use maths in everyday life. It can help you to progress in employment or education, or brush up on your existing skills. These courses are for adult learners who want to develop their confidence in using maths, use accurate calculations in their work or prepare for higher courses such as Functional Skills or GCSE maths.
What you will learn
Our maths courses are specifically designed to develop your skills and confidence in:
- Additional, subtraction, multiplication and division
- Working with whole numbers
- Working with fractions and decimals
- Using a calculator
- Graphs
- 2D and 3D shapes
- Percentages
- Averages
Course Entry requirements:
You don’t need any qualifications to apply for this course but need to have basic maths basic skills in addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. We will ask you to take an initial assessment to determine the level that is right for you. Please note: We also offer a Multiply for ESOL Learners course for adults whose first language is not English.
How is the course delivered/ how will you be assessed?
You will need to attend ‘face to face’ sessions where you can develop your confidence and ‘Skills for Maths’
