Fitness Instructing, Certificate
This course is designed for people aged over 19 years and will equip you with the knowledge and skills required to pursue a career as a gym instructor. The Level 2 Certificate in Gym Instructing aims to provide learners with the knowledge and skills that are needed to plan, deliver and supervise safe but effective exercise programmes within a gym or health club environment.
You will have access to our state-of-the-art performance gym for the practical delivery of this study programme and you will be given specialist support from tutors and learner support advisors. This flexible course allows you complete parts of the qualification in your own time. The qualification is recognised and valued by employers and can help learners to increase their career opportunities and earning potential.

Coursework project, portfolio of evidence, practical assignments and multiple-choice examination.
Progression opportunities
Successful achievement of this qualification will provide entry to the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA) as an affiliate member (exercise and fitness). CIMSPA is the professional development body for the UK’s sport and physical activity sector. You will be able to progress onto Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training.

The course requires physical exertion, and individual participation is essential; therefore, a degree of physical fitness is necessary. * There is an element of communication (discussing, presenting, reading and writing) involved and learners should have basic skills in communication pitched at level 2.
