All you need to know about course dates and times
Hair Professional: Hairdressing, Intermediate Apprenticeship
What will I do on this course?
This Level 2 hair professional apprenticeship will enable you to learn practical skills on the job as well as developing your theoretical skills in Weston College’s commercial salons. You’ll earn a wage and gain valuable work experience while also getting the benefits of being a student.
You will learn the theory and skills you’ll need to gain employment in the industry, along with the professionalism and behaviour expected within the sector. The topics you’ll study include basic techniques in cutting hair, changing hair colour, styling, dressing and finishing hair. We’ll also develop your English and maths skills as part of this course.
How will I be assessed?
Your personal assessor will visit your salon to review your progress and we’ll also assess you in our commercial salon. Once your gradebook is complete we will agree an end-point assessment with you, which will be an externally graded six-hour trade test.
What could I do after this course?
The majority of our apprentices are kept on by their employer after they finish their course. You could develop your skills by progressing to an advanced apprenticeship, or the Women’s Hairdressing Level 3 course at Weston College.
Four GCSEs at grade 3/D or above, or a Level 1 qualification. You’ll also need to be in employment in the industry, but we can support you to find this.
