Biology, A Level
What will I do on this course?
You will study the natural science concerned with the study of life and living organisms. This course covers a variety of modules, including foundations in biology, exchange and transport, biodiversity, evolution and disease, and genetics and ecosystems.
You will benefit from access to our recently refurbished and well-equipped laboratories, which include modern apparatus and plenty of reference resources. Over the course of the two years, you will also develop practical skills in planning, implementation, analysis and evaluation.
How will I be assessed?
You will sit three written exams in the second year. You will also receive a pass or fail grade for skills developed in practical work.
What could I do after this course?
Following this course you could progress to university to study degrees in medicine or veterinary science. You could also progress to the Biological Laboratory Sciences degree at University Centre Weston. Or a science based apprenticeship.
Five GCSEs at grade 9-4, including English, and grade 6 or above in core and additional science and maths.
