What will I do on this course?
This course will develop your understanding of the legal system, covering aspects of criminal law, tort (negligence), and contract law. You will also learn how and why laws are created, with consideration of justice, morality and the power of judges to make laws.
You will have the opportunity to witness the law in action by visiting local magistrates’ courts, the Royal Courts of Justice, Supreme Court and the Houses of Parliament. We also arrange for guest speakers to talk to you about their roles in the justice system.
How will I be assessed?
You will sit exams in your second year.
What could I do after this course?
You could apply to study law at university. You could also study Law LLB at University Centre Weston and UWE Bristol, or take other courses at the College - including our Chartered Institute of Legal Executives course, which allows you to qualify as a legal executive.
