This is a very exciting time to be considering joining us as a Higher Education student at Weston College. Our new multi-million pound University Campus has now been completed and opened in September 2007. It includes state-of-the-art Higher Education facilities and will be dedicated to the development of university level courses in Weston, providing a great asset to both the town and our students.

We have been delivering high quality Higher Education programmes at Weston College since 1993, with 500 students currently enrolled on such courses. As part of the Government’s drive to increase the number of 18 to 30 year-olds accessing Higher Education, we are continually developing our provision in partnership with local employers and local universities including Bath Spa University, the University of Bath and the University of the West of England.

In the interests of our students and the business community, we are increasing the number of Foundation Degrees we are offering year on year.

These degrees and all of the Higher Education courses we offer represent excellent opportunities for people in North Somerset and beyond. They give people the chance to increase their career prospects and access more degree level courses on their doorstep, in Weston-super-Mare.

Last year we celebrated the graduation of hundreds of students who had studied for Foundation Degrees and professional qualifications.

What are Foundation Degrees?

Many of our degree level courses are Foundation Degrees. These new exciting degree courses combine academic study with work related learning to give you the specialist skills you need to meet the needs of local employers.

These degree courses are an excellent example of our partnership with local businesses. Designed with employers, Foundation Degrees create a blend of academic and work-based learning that suit both students and employers.
